Celtic: 3 players who can solve Tom Rogic problem

Celtic will miss Tom Rogic’s presence in the upcoming games, with the Australian set to miss a few weeks of action at least after picking up an injury. The midfielder had found his form recently and was playing some of his best football for the Hoops and had become a huge part of Ange Postecoglou’s team.

It is safe to say that they missed him in the recent 0-0 draw against Livingston, and even against Hibernian after he had to be substituted off in the first-half itself. Before the injury, he had looked like the best player on the pitch.

Postecoglou must find a way to replace Rogic’s impact on this Celtic team. But with the lack of depth in midfield, he might very well have to come up with innovative solutions.

There are a few players in the Celtic squad though who could possibly fill in for Rogic during his absence.

Jota has been sensational since arriving at Celtic in the summer and has already nailed down his spot in the starting XI. He is perhaps one of the first names on the team sheet for Postecoglou these days.

He has mostly played as a winger through the course of his career but is believed to have the ability to play through the middle if the situation calls for it.

Would he be at his best in that role though? Most probably not. But it could be a possible solution.

Of course, this would be a very unexpected change, considering how well Jota has played at left-wing coming in. But it could be worth a try if the Hoops continue to struggle in Rogic’s absence.
