Just when Celtic start to build some momentum, it appears that injuries take the wind out of their sails. We saw it happen earlier in the season once and it might be happening once again, with both Tom Rogic and Carl Starfelt picking up injury problems in recent games. Thus, it is clear that the club need to strengthen Ange Postecoglou’s squad in the January transfer window.
When most of the players are fit, Celtic have done quite well, playing some beautiful football and getting big results. But their squad is not the deepest, meaning they have often had injury problems to deal with till now.
Postecoglou does not appear to have a lot of scope for squad rotation right now and has had to rely on a core group of players. With the amount of football that some of these players are playing, it should not come as a surprise that quite a few of them have gotten injured over the course of the season.
One can only hope that the club makes some signings in the January transfer window in order to increase the depth of the squad and increase their chances of competing for the Premiership title.

Daizen Maeda has been heavily linked with a move to Celtic over the past couple of weeks and it is not hard to see why at all. He is the leading goalscorer in the J1 League at this point of time.
Possessing incredible pace, the ability to finish with both his feet, intelligent movement and good stamina, he could be the perfect player for Celtic’s style of football.
On top of it all, he has already played under the management of Postecoglou, when both of them were at Yokohama F. Marinos.
In fact, it was Postecoglou who brought him to the club and it goes without saying that if there is a repeat of that at Celtic, it would be considered as a major coup for the Hoops.
