Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Premier League and England defender insisted this season’s title race will be a much better spectacle than last season’s.
Rangers secured a historic 55th title in March last season with months left of the season.
The Gers currently sit top of the table, four points clear of Celtic, after their thumping 6-1 win over Motherwell at Fir Park today.
Celtic were on a run of five consecutive wins across all competitions before their 0-0 draw with 10-man Livingston at Parkhead yesterday.
The two sides have met once this season when Rangers ran out 1-0 winners at Ibrox at the end of August.
Asked for his assessment of this season’s title race, Mills Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “I think it will be much better.
“It’s going to be close.
“Both had indifferent starts to their season and neither club have been on fire, they both have had some disappointing results so far.
“How it looks, it’s going to be much, much closer. Certainly, neither club is going to run away with it this season.”
The last time Celtic beat their Old Firm rivals was at the end of March 2019 at Parkhead in the Scottish Premiership.
