“Out the door in January” – Celtic podcaster makes incredible Hoops star claim IF we sign Maeda. Surely not?

The thing about transfer speculation surrounding Celtic is that all the talk is of which players are going to come IN to the club.

Earlier in the season, we saw how threadbare the squad was when we were decimated by injury, so naturally, you would assume that there would be no outgoings (except of course those that are deemed not good enough).

Not so according to Liam on the Celtic Down Under podcast.

According to Liam, if the club sign Maeda, this could spell the end of James Forrest’s career at Celtic, “The thing about Maeda is that I’ve seen him play all across the front three.

“So he’s not necessarily going to come in and be a left winger or through the middle type player.

“What I would suggest is that Maeda comes in, that I think, with rotation, if there is a way that we could have Jota, Abada, Kyogo and Maeda all accommodated in the team.

“But it would raise question marks about the future of Mikey Johnson and James Forrest.

“I don’t think there’s room for all of them.

“And unfortunately, Johnson, everyone talks about him having potential but he’s had potential for three years now and he hasn’t really developed from it.

“From what I’ve seen of him, competition is good. And like I said,  if Maeda comes in I guarantee you at least one, possibly two of Ajeti, Johnson and I hate to say it, but possibly even James Forrest to be out the door on January.

“When Ange, I said think last week in his press conference that, plans are already in motion for what’s going to happen in January.

“He said, we’re not concluded in deals, but we already have ideas about who we want to bring in and we’re working in the background on it.

“Now, I read that as we also have an idea of who’s going to be getting moved out.”

I personally can’t see that happening but what it does do is put pressure on the Celtic winger and we all know that when competition is put in front of Forrest, he rises to the challenge.
