Celtic can pull off transfer masterstroke this January

Celtic rebuilt their squad over the summer transfer window by making twelve signings, with ten arriving on a permanent basis and two on loan deals with an option to buy included in both of them. And while the start to the season has been mixed, some of the new arrivals are already making a huge impression at the club.

The two standouts have obviously been Kyogo and Jota. Both of them have looked absolutely fantastic till now. Liel Abada has also been great, especially considering that he just 20 years of age this month.

On the opposite end of the pitch, the partnership between Carl Starfelt and Cameron Carter-Vickers is coming together as well. Josip Juranovic has not made a flying start but whenever he has played, he has been very solid and is expected to be a brilliant signing. And Joe Hart has proven himself to be a leader in goal and brought some stability there.

There are a few more who are still finding their feet at Parkhead but have high expectations surrounding them. But despite all of this, it is clear that the club need to make further additions in January and they could actually pull off a transfer masterstroke in the winter transfer window.

Why signing Daizen Maeda could be a transfer masterstroke on the part of Celtic

By now, most fans have heard of the rumours linking Celtic to Yokohama F. Marinos superstar Daizen Maeda. What makes him the perfect signing for Ange Postecoglou’s side though?

Well, first of all, he has already played under the manager during their time together at Yokohama F. Marinos and will probably be more familiar with his tactics than anyone at Parkhead right now.

Secondly, there is a reason that it was Postecoglou who brought him to Yokohama F. Marinos. His attributes seem to be the perfect fit for the manager’s style of football.

Maeda is incredibly fast, has great movement and stamina, and possesses the ability to finish with both his feet. Also, he is a very versatile player, who is capable of playing on the left wing, as a second striker or even as a centre forward if the situation calls for it. On top of everything else, he is the leading scorer in the J1 League right now. Thus, he will add a lot of fluidity to this Celtic side going forward.

Of course, all of it will depend on if Celtic are able to complete a move but it is safe to say that signing someone like Maeda in January could prove to be a transfer masterstroke.
