Celtic manager delivers exciting Mikey Johnston prediction

Things are looking up for Celtic both on and off the pitch at this moment. The club have turned things around a bit over the past few weeks and have won four games on the trot. There has been good news on the injury front as well with a number of players making their returns to the pitch. Mikey Johnston is one of them.

Johnston has been in and out of the team for a long time now, as he has struggled to remain fit. And there are serious questions about whether he has a long-term future in this Celtic side.

Johnston has made a comeback to the pitch recently though and has impressed after coming off the bench. Against St Johnstone he looked very sharp, showed some excellent overall play and even ended up hitting the post.

And Ange Postecoglou seems excited by the prospect of having him back available, and believes he can have a huge impact. As reported by The Scottish Sun, the Celtic manager said about Johnston:

“I was really pleased to see Mikey back because he looked really good in pre-season.

“I know how talented he is but the key for him was to get his body healthy and to be really patient with him.

“He’s a talented player and he’s now getting more game time.

“The way we play I know he can have a huge impact for us, he just needs to stay healthy and keep improving his game.”

Johnston can play a big role in the Celtic team if he can remain fit

There has never been any question about the talent and potential of Johnston. In fact, many believed that he had the ability to become a 20-goal winger.

Whenever he has been on the pitch, Johnston has been decisive and effective. The problem is, he has not been on the pitch much, especially lately.

Johnston has struggled with one injury after the other over the past couple of seasons and will definitely need to remain fit for a considerable length of time if he is to make his mark on this Celtic side.

At 22 years of age, he is still in the early stages of his career, and there is no question that he has the potential to go on to become a brilliant player one day. Fans will only be hoping that he has left his injury issues behind him.
