Celtic begin contract extension talks with another star

Coming into the season, right-back was considered as an area of weakness for the Hoops. But at the moment, it might actually be one of their biggest strengths.

The club have signed Croatian international right-back, Josip Juranovic, over the summer while Anthony Ralston looks like a player transformed under the management of Ange Postecoglou.

Ralston’s start to the campaign has been great and he looks like a solid right-back ready to compete for his spot in the team. And it appears he could be set to be rewarded for his good form.

Celtic have reportedly begun contract extension talks with Ralston

Celtic have already handed one big contract extension this season with captain Callum McGregor signing a new five-year deal with the club. And it appears that Ralston could be handed a new deal as well.

As tweeted out by Ekrem Konur, Celtic have begun talks to extend Ralston’s contract.

This is a massive positive considering how good he has been this season for the most part and it is believed that his current deal runs out in the summer of 2022. Thus, it is important to hand the Scottish right-back an extension as soon as possible.

Of course, Juranovic is another right-back at Parkhead right now and he is expected to play a big role in this Celtic team. He is also capable of playing at left-back though and as a result, Ralston’s presence in the squad gives Postecoglou a lot of options and fluidity in the backline, something that they will need through the course of the long season.
