Celtic have had their injury problems recently with a number of important players having to spend time on the sidelines. As a result, for a good portion of time, Ange Postecoglou had very few players available to pick his starting XI from. Fortunately, there has been a lot of improvement on that front recently with a number of players making their returns.
Kyogo and Callum McGregor coming back has helped this side a lot in getting back on track after a disappointing run of form. On the other hand, Giorgos Giakoumakis appears to be getting up to match speed as well. And the likes of Christopher Jullien and James Forrest are also closing in on their returns.
One player who could be out for a while longer though is Karamoko Dembele. The 18-year-old suffered an injury during pre-season and has been out of action since. And he has now had to undergo surgery after some problems in the healing process of his ankle fracture.
“Unfortunately I’ve had some problems with the healing process of my ankle fracture so I’ve had to get surgery done,Inshallah back on the field soon!”
The Celtic youngster’s injury came at the worst time possible
Injuries are always bad but at the end of the day, it is almost impossible to avoid when it comes to football players. Dembele’s injury came at the worst time possible though.
For years, he has been one of the most highly-rated youngsters at the club. But, he had never gotten a decent run of games in the first-team. But with squad options very few, there was a belief that that could change under the management of Postecoglou.
Dembele had even featured in pre-season and looked good before suffering his injury. He has been out of action since then. On the other hand, Postecoglou has shown that he is very open to giving opportunities to youngsters. Adam Montgomery is a great example of that.
