£2.1m player pictured at airport as Celtic move close

When Celtic appointment Brendan Rodgers as the manager of the club for the second time, in order to replace Ange Postecoglou, the expectation was that he would be backed in the summer transfer window. Till now, the club have made two very exciting additions as well, in the form of Odin Thiago Holm and Marco Tilio.

On the other hand, two more signings are expected to be announced soon as well. The club are believed to have gotten deals over the line for South Korean youth internationals, Yang Hyun-jun and Kwon Hyeok-kyu.

They faced some issues when it came to signing Yang, as Gangwon FC were not keen on letting him leave in the middle of the season, while they try to avoid relegation. But it looks like they have finally managed to get things done, and the player himself appeared to be very interested in making a move to Glasgow as well, which certainly played a part.

There were rumours that Yang would join the Celtic squad in Japan. But that does not look like that will be the case after all.

£2.1 million player pictured at airport as Celtic announcement nears

As reported by the Daily Record, Yang is going straight to Parkhead after stopping at Seoul airport to chat to journalists. Celtic are shelling out a £2.1 million transfer fee to sign him.

Yang is one of the most highly rated young talents in South Korean football. And if he can make the adjustment to the Scottish Premiership, then he could prove to be a key player for the club for years to come.

It is great that Celtic are signing so many exciting young prospects. At the same time, they will have to bring in some experienced and established players sooner or later as well in order to add their know-how Rodgers’ squad.
